Expressions are easy-to-use – Aha! and its customers can rapidly add or change the KPIs to meet the changing needs of the business. Based on the powerful P-Nuts scripting language, the scope of an analysis is easily extended include access and invocation to on-demand data from external sources using the facilities of Java. For example, current pricing information can be integrated directly into your KPI’s from your accounting system at the time the calculations are performed.
The P-Nuts language usage has been further simplified by extending the syntax to be more business friendly. For example, the selection of data from the analytics database is specified using a simple function call specifying the name of the information and what data element is to be used for the analysis. The analytic engine translates the request for execution and uses contextual information to perform the desired data retrieval.
Third Party Extensions and Services
Aha! Engine Extensions allows Aha! and third parties to extend the capabilities of Aha! Expressions. These extensions can be loaded dynamically and support the ability to extend the syntax of expression language using business related terminology. This framework supports the ability for Aha! to extend the expression language for the inclusion of a number of features such as ROI calculations, interfaces to custom external applications, and a wide range of Artificial Intelligence technologies
Aha! On-Demand Platform
The Aha! Platform incorporates a number of open technologies that form the foundation for providing its core SOA facilities for active SaaS analytics, pipeline simulations, and discrete event simulation models. Applications are implemented in J2EE using the JBoss application server for Aha! Web-based applications and web-services solutions. MySql is used for all database services and specialized C++ discrete event simulation modules are annealed with the fundamental J2EE components using JMS for isolation and abstraction as well as flexibility for the implementation of a highly scalable facility.
This approach also allows for simulation and analytic models to be run on a variety of purpose-based servers to meet the needs of the market. The Aha! Platform has been architected and delivered as a service, software, or an SOA/ESB appliance.
